No blog posts since April? Wow, we are awful human beings. AWFUL! I, Sean Lorenz, hereby declare more blog posts of cute kids.
Let's begin with a YouTube response to Baby Monkey Riding (Backwards) on a Pig. Commence child abuse in 3-2-1....
A blog about a photographer mom and wannabe neuroscientist dad raising 24-week and 29-week preemies in the city of Boston. Let the shenanigans and zaniness ensue!

mohawks and other madness
we've been having a fun couple of weeks IN THE HOUSE because it's either too rainy, cold, or windy to go outside. sigh. but no don't worry, we have been hanging inside, having a blast. here are a few images of our little guy rocking his mohawk, and brooklyn stealing his toys.
a little big for her these days!

there's no place like home.
soren is home with us, and we could not be happier. he is such a sweet, cuddly, easy little boy. brooklyn is thrilled to have him home. we didn't know how she would react to having him with us, but she has been an absolute angel toward him! she LOVES him, and makes sure he is well taken care of. if he cries, she goes over to him and gives him a pacifier and pats him until he stops! she frequently checks on him to make sure he is okay. and when she wakes up in the morning, the first words she speaks are "where's baby?" i have a feeling these two are going to have a lot of fun together!
we are blessed.
we are blessed.

daddy's little girl
anyone who knows me knows i am a daddy's girl. my father is my best friend, always has been, always will be. i have a special place in my heart for daddy's and their daughters. so when i see my husband with our daughter, i melt. i am so grateful that i married him - not only because of how much i love and adore him - but also because of the incredible father he is to our beautiful little girl. she will grow up knowing how she should be treated by men because of his love for her. what a gift.

Brooklyn holds her little brother
Brooklyn was very excited to hold Soren at the NICU over the weekend. She's going to be a great big sister! As for Mr. Soren James, he is over 5 pounds now and growing fast. He is also taking full feedings several times a day and the nurses think he'll be home in the next few weeks. We are very much looking forward to that day. Stay tuned for Coming Home Party details!

Sleeping and growing
Happy almost spring, everyone! Sorry for not posting about Soren in the past three weeks; I have kind of gotten sucked into the Facebook vortex and update that more frequently these days.
So here is a brief list of skillz Soren has acquired in recent weeks:
1) Coming off CPAP and breathing without any tubes!
2) Moving from an incubator to a big kid crib where he gets to sport all his new duds.
3) Surpassing the 4 pound mark, heralding the arrival of his second chin.
4) Breastfeeding with mom for the first time without one spell.
Here are a few photos of his NICU adventures over the past few weeks.
