For the past few months, Brooklyn has developed a nasty rash that refuses to go away. We have tried to rule out EVERYTHING: adding/removing food, milk, soy, detergent, etc. Kelly and I finally caved and got a partial allergy test done last week. The problem is that "dog dander" was not on there! And neither was egg. Those being the two biggest culprits at the moment. Sigh...so we have a full allergy test set up with Children's Hospital on Monday.
In the meantime, our wonderful friends, Max and Heather, said they would watch Lola the wonder pooch until we find out the cause of B's rash. Little did they know what they were getting into (or how much sleep they would lose)! To quote a late-night email from Max: "She is a sh*$%!ing machine gun :)"
And then we got this report back this morning....
Subject: Daily update - Poop Pee Counter
INSIDE
Poop: 3 (diarrea)
Pee: 2
OUTSIDE
Poop: 0
Pee: 0
Comments: while the team is clearly out of shape in puppy management, the plan is to break even tomorrow (Poop & Pee INSIDE =~ Poop and Pee OUTSIDE). Currently, the chances are slim, but the team is working hard on some key strategic implementation plans that could support our ambitious goals.
Needless to say, we owe Max and Heather big time! By the way, for non-computational neuroscientists, =~ means "does not equal". :)
A blog about a photographer mom and wannabe neuroscientist dad raising 24-week and 29-week preemies in the city of Boston. Let the shenanigans and zaniness ensue!

Happy Birthday, Beautiful.
Our little nugget, Brooklyn Naim Lorenz, turned one year old today! Attempting to know what to write requires a mental trip back in time to what is now a quick-paced blur of the most terrifying and exhilarating moments of our lives. Our former 24-weeker is a miracle. Of this I have no doubt. God has blessed us with a feisty, healthy, sweet little girl that gets cuter every day. Rather than blather on in words, I will let Kelly's photos of the past year tell the story! The slideshow is a bit over 11 minutes long, but we think it's worth it; just tell your boss you'll get to those T.P.S. reports in, oh, about 15 minutes.
