Brooklyn Meets Manhattan

Kelly had a wedding in New York City this weekend, so I got to show Brooklyn a very rainy version of Manhattan. She was bug-eyed trying to take it all in! I forgot the camera so I had to rely on the ole iPhone camera to capture a few moments.

This was an AMAZING little kid-friendly, organic cafe in Tribeca called Moomah.
B and I had some tea and met up with our buddy, Misti Wills, here.

For Father's Day, we all went t0 a place called The Little Owl (that red place
in the background) located on a sleepy side street in Greenwich Village.
They had the best french toast Kelly and I have ever had. Sorry for the rogue thumb....

Sick little muffin

Kelly and I took last night off to celebrate our 2nd anniversary by getting a full night's sleep. Best. Present. Ever. We missed our little muffin at the hospital though, so we rushed over this morning to see how she was doing. B is definitely still sick with, as her nurse stated, "a whole lotta boogers" in her nose. Thankfully all that congestion is starting to deteriorate as is the nasty coughing/hacking from two days ago. So, instead of having a VERY sick baby, we now have a sleepy, slightly sick baby. All in all, Brooklyn is doing much better and we should be able to take her home today. Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers!

Happy Anniversary!

Kelly and I are celebrating our 2nd anniversary....in Children's Hospital! Yep. For the past 5 days, Brooklyn has been inconsolable with a gut-wrenching cough and gagging reflex. We thought it might just be heightened acid reflux so we put some rice cereal in her milk to help things. It didn't help. With her cough getting worse each day, yesterday was the tipping point.

We rushed over to the emergency room at Children's Hospital where B was given lots of x-rays and oxygen treatments in order to figure out what the heck was going on. She's been seen by just about every department at Children's and so far the most likely culprit is aspirated pneumonia -- a bug she may have contracted from having a nasty case of acid reflux. The oxygen treatments have worked wonders and Brooklyn is FINALLY acting like herself again after a very long night at Children's.

She has another group of tests today, so be praying that the doctors can figure out what is the dealio with our little muffin. Off to celebrate two years of wedded bliss with my lovely bride over a bowl of inpatient Froot Loops!

ROAD TRIP!!!

With Kelly having a rough pregnancy and an even more eventful post-pregnancy, we haven't had a relaxing day outside the city in almost a year. So, Kelly had the wonderful idea of taking B on her first road trip -- to Crane Beach in Ipswich! It was an absolutely perfect day. Brooklyn absolutely LOVED the ocean. We mark "love" in B terms by the length of uninterrupted sleep and number of spontaneous grins. Here are a few shots from the parking lot (since I forgot to actually take the camera down to the beach with us...oops).

Brooklyn says, "Mom, I will get my revenge for you making me wear this stupid hat.
